Welcome to my blog. My name is... Well, maybe someday I'll let that slip. But for now, just call me "The Collector" (heh, I always wanted a cool nickname!). Anyways, to get back on topic, this site is being launched in order to facilitate a good place to gather and share information on two topics I find very interesting. The first being the history of the area I grew up in (The Santa Maria Valley) and the second being the paranormal. (yup, things that go bump in the night.) As of now, I don't really have much to share- but that is about to change (in theory).
"How can I help?" You may ask. Well, let me tell you how! I am looking for personal stories and accounts from YOU! Anything involving urban legends, ghosts, abandoned towns/cemetery sites, odd happenings, creepy locations, encounters with Angels, profound religious experiences or anything else along the lines of the Paranormal or unexplained. I can't do this all by myself. Well, i could, but it would get real boring, real fast! So if you think you have something email me at ParanormalSM@aol.com. Please be sure to read our rules for submission before sending.

Submission "guidelines"
1) At this time I am just focusing on the Santa Maria Valley (SM, Orcutt, Sisquoc, Garey, Guadalupe or surrounding areas, in North Santa Barbara County) But I will also accept other locations close by (south SLO county, Santa Barbara, Lompoc) if the stories are ones that should be heard.
2) Not all submissions will make it onto the site. Generally, if it looks good, it will make it. It will also be stored in our archives of haunted locations or paranormal hot spots.
3) I generally credit submitters by first name and last initial. If you don't want your name attached, be sure to mention that in the e-mail. If you do want you name attached, make sure your name is written somewhere in the e-mail.
4) Locations must be mentioned. General area works, but street address is preferable-actual numerical addresses will be published only if current resident of address allows for publication.
5) Ghost/unexplainable "pictures" are also being sought though not required for submissions. (Person(s) who take photos that make it up will also be given name credit to any photographs.)
6) Please only submit personal experiences. No "my friend told me her grandma once...." Only share if it was something seen or experienced by you.
7) All persons sending submissions (stories and photos) to the site must be aware that eventually selected stories may be developed into a book. If your story is selected, you will be given credit.
8) I am not offering any financial reward for stories, as I am a broke college student.
9) Please keep submissions tasteful. We will not post stories including unnecessary gore, obscene or sexual subject material.
10) Please feel free to link to this site, no need to ask permission.
