A family members spirit comes to reassure...

Our first post this week comes from Diane in Santa Maria. She writes:

"In 1972 when we were getting our new home ready to move into, I had a strange thing happen. I was alone in the kitchen re-grouting the tile on our sink when someone tapped me on the shoulder.

I turned around, expecting to see my husband standing behind me, but no one was there. The hair suddenly stood up on the back of my neck.

An hour later I received word that my Cousin had been killed in Vietnam by friendly fire. He had been raised in the home we were in the process of buying. "

Perhaps he was coming back to say goodbye? Or in order to let her know he approves of the work she was putting in on his childhood home. In any case, Diane states she feels her cousins presence regularly in and around their home. Looks like you may have a guardian angel on your hands.

The house in question is a Private residence in an older neighborhood in Southern Santa Maria. It is currently occupied and owners do not wish to be disturbed.

The Craigslist Experiment

In order to drum up business, so to speak, I placed an ad on both the San Luis Obispo Craigslist and the Santa Barbara Craigslist asking locals to send in submissions. If you found this blog from either of those sites, at least we have some curiosity getting us some hits. Welcome, and please bookmark this site and check back soon for updates. Welcome to my blog. My name is... Well, maybe someday I'll let that slip. But for now, just call me "The Collector" (heh, I always wanted a cool nickname!). Anyways, to get back on topic, this site is being launched in order to facilitate a good place to gather and share information on two topics I find very interesting. The first being the history of the area I grew up in (The Santa Maria Valley) and the second being the paranormal. (yup, things that go bump in the night.) As of now, I don't really have much to share- but that is about to change (in theory).

"How can I help?" You may ask. Well, let me tell you how! I am looking for personal stories and accounts from YOU! Anything involving urban legends, ghosts, abandoned towns/cemetery sites, odd happenings, creepy locations, encounters with Angels, profound religious experiences or anything else along the lines of the Paranormal or unexplained.
